Who's in the wedding party?

Sarah's side

Matron of HonourKim Cross

Kim Cross

Kim and Sarah have known each other their entire lives; they were born in the same hospital 15 days apart, and grew up on the same street 4 houses apart. The distance between them — New Hampshire to upstate New York during college, Massachusetts to New York after college, or Boston to London now — has never mattered and their friendship of 29 years continues strong. When Sarah asked Kim to be her Matron of Honour, it was a formality as they both knew they would be MOH for each other since they were little.

Bridesmaid Elysse Nava

Elysse Nava

Sarah and Elysse have known each other since they met at a handful of Bar and Bat Mitzvahs when they were thirteen (as Sarah attended temple in Elysse’s hometown). They reconnected during college when they were surprised to find that they had ended up on the same floor of the same dorm freshman year. Ever since, Sarah and Elysse have remained close — sharing a love for Starbucks chai lattes and a love of Massachusetts.

Bridesmaid Jess Liebov

Jess Liebov

Jess and Sarah met during their sophomore year of college. Sarah was having a tough time after splitting with her boyfriend, and Jess popped her head into Sarah’s dorm room and invited Sarah to join her and her friends for lunch in the cafeteria. After college, Sarah and Jess lived together in Manhattan for a few years (with Elysse and a few other girls, too) and have some hilarious tales from those years in New York.

Bridesmaid Emily Weiss

Emily Weiss

Sarah and Emily met at the cafeteria the day that Jess brought Sarah to lunch with her friends. Emily and Sarah were abroad in London together during college, and also lived together with Jess and Elysse during their last two years of college. They also have some great stories from their years living in New York.

Bridesmaid Kate Slater

Kate Slater

Kate and Sarah also met at Skidmore’s cafeteria the day that Jess brought Sarah to lunch with her friends. Kate and Sarah were also abroad in London together during college. Sarah has always loved Kate’s “wise beyond her years” advice and general light hearted approach to everything in life.

Bridesmaid Erika Vargas

Erika Vargas

Erika and Sarah can’t pinpoint exactly when they became friends, but they think it was somewhere around 2000. They had friends in common and got to know each other initially over LiveJournal, a blogging/public journal site that was popular at the time. Later during high school they also spent time together playing tennis on Natick High School’s tennis team.

James's Side

Best man Edward Holland

Edward Holland

My brother is the most wonderful, giving, supportive, irritating, stubborn person. It’s a terrible line, but he’s the best man I know.

Musician, actor, lifesaving transplant specialist, Donkey Kong hero and primary school teacher.

You’ll find him on the dancefloor.

Groomsman Chris Tiernan

Chris Tiernan

Chris and I have been friends since school. As well as probably being the smartest guy I know, he’s somehow both the hardest working and the laziest. A pretty impressive achievement.

You’ll find him at the bar.

Groomsman Stephen Woowat

Stephen Woowat

I somehow managed to talk to Steve, Phil and Karl on the first day of University and we’ve kept talking since then. Like myself, Steve is a man of many obsessions. From graphic design to Lego, Fraiser to the Simpsons, the Matrix to Super Mario Kart. Talk to him about your obsessions, he’s probably into them too.

You’ll find him in the games room.

Groomsman Phil Williams

Phil Williams

Phil shares my love of food like no one else I know. If you can put it in your mouth, he has. He’s basically a gentle soul, but god help you if you talk to him while he’s cooking.

You won’t find him during dinner.

Groomsman Karl Goldstraw

Karl Goldstraw

When not working as a courtier for Henry the 8th, Karl moonlights as a web designer and professional Mark Kornblum impersonator. He’s also a pretty loyal son of a bitch and the gorgeous fellow has helped me move flats more than I’d be comfortable to admit. Buy him a drink.

You’ll find him on the dancefloor, doing the worm.
